Checkpoint fired at in Nazran

            Late night on 30 April, in the outskirts of the city of Nazran unknown persons fired from automatic weapons at a checkpoint of militia located on the federal highway "Kavkaz". This information was received from one of the city dwellers.

            According to the information received from an employee of law enforcement bodies of Ingushetia, as a result of this bombardment a 20-years serviceman of Internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Viktor Sovoshenko received a gunshot wound and was hospitalized. Assailants managed to escape. Their searches undertaken by employees of power departments were ineffectual.

Militia officer murdered in Ali-Yurt

            According to the information received from local residents, late night on 29 April, in the village of Ali-Yurt of Nazranovski district a 41-years officer of militia Ganizhev was killed. The militiaman, who was living in the house no. 25 on Albogachiev-street, according to some information, has casually shot down himself from a pistol Makarov.

There is information that, as a result of casual handling of weapon, he has caused a fatal wound to the head.

            According to one of the inhabitants of the town of Malgobek, on the previous day, in the area of Bazorkin-street the attempt to fulfill the act of terrorism against an employee of FSB of Russia in Ingushetia was accomplished. A self-made bomb of powerful capacity was revealed under the bottom of the car of the law enforcer parked in the street.

The land mine was neutralized by sappers. Identity of organizers is not established. (Информационный выпуск № 1275 от 28 апреля 2008 г).

            As it became known today, unidentified persons tried to blast a vehicle "Zhiguli" belonging to the FSB officer Mikhail Arbuzov.

Detentions of citizens

Urus-Martan 

            According to the information received from an inhabitant of the town of Urus-Martan, recently employees of power departments detained an employee of Chechen militia. According to the source, the arrested militiaman was accused of that some days earlier he plundered the house of a judge of the Supreme Court of the republic, which was protected by him.

            Thus, the arrested person imitated the attack on the house and caused a gunshot wound to his own leg for credibility of the fact. The surname of the law enforcer is not provided due to the request of the source.

Chechen-Aul village

            On 22 April, in the village of Chechen-Aul of Groznenskid district, during conduction of the so-called "address special operation", employees of power structures detained one of the local residents, a 46-years man living in a house on Partizanskaya-street. This information was obtained from villagers of the arrested person. A "standard" charge of belonging to militants was brought against the arrested person.

Grozny’s Zavodskoi district

            On 16 April, in Zavodskoi district of the city of Grozny, at one of the checkpoints employees of militia detained a young man driving a car of "Zhiguli" of the fifth model. According to one of the eyewitnesses of the incident, having checked the driver’s documents and examining his car, militiamen detained the driver.

The reason for such actions towards the arrested person is not known. The surname of the man is being established.
