Fighting near Saadi-Kotar

According to the information, received from local residents, on 30 June, in a large forest in several kilometers from the village of Saadi-Kotar (Komsomolskoye) of Urus-Martanovski district there was a firing between militaries and a group of insurgents. There is information that firing with application of automatic weapons and grenade cup discharges proceeded nearby a half an hour.

The information about casualties or injured people among militaries and insurgents is not available.

In Elisatnzhi building of local militia department fired at

At night on June 29, in the village of Elistanzhi of Vedenski district a group of unknown persons subjected to bombardment from small arms a building, in which a local police department is situated. This information is received from inhabitants of this settlement.

According to the people, firing proceeded for about 20 minutes. As a result of then attack, the officer of the battalion of special Internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "South" and one of the local residents were killed. One more military of the division "South" was wounded.

Assailants managed to escape to unknown direction. Surnames of the casualties are being established.

Man detained near Alkhan-Yurt

As it became known from one of the inhabitants of Urus-Martanovski district, about 10 days ago on the outskirts of the village of Alkhan-Kala employees of power structures detained a young man. According to the source, militiamen stopped the man for check of his documents, then searched him and took away.

Currently it is known that the arrested person was an inhabitant of the city of Grozny.

Additional information

According to local residents, on 28 June, in a large forest near the village of Roshni-Chu of Urus-Martanovski district unknown persons shot down four persons: two employees of militia and two local residents, a man and a woman. According to the other information, a group of militiamen along with these man and woman, close relatives of one of the young people, who had recently joined insurgents, were proceeding to Roshni-Chu to persuade the person to surrender.

            According to the other information, the woman and the man were detained by law enforcers as hostages and delivered to Roshni-Chu so that they would convince the insurgent to surrender. The circumstances of the incident and surnames of killed persons are being established. (Information Release № 1320 of 30 June 2008)

            Today surnames of killed militiamen became known. They are the chief of the department of criminal investigation of Shatoy militia department, the captain of militia Islam Abdulov and detective officer of this department, the senior lieutenant Akhdan Arsnukaev. Surnames of the man and the woman are still not established. According to some information, they were inhabitants of the village of Pobedinskoye of Groznenski district.

Powerful land mine revealed near Sagopshi

            As it became known from an inhabitant of Malgobekski district, on 30 June, on the outskirts of the village of Sagopshi, employees of local law enforcement bodies found a car, stolen earlier by unknown persons from an inhabitant of the village of Yandare of Nazranovski district. During the examination of the car, a powerful explosive devise was revealed near this vehicle.

The land mine was neutralized by military sappers called to the place of the incident. Identity of criminals, which stole the car and put a self-made bomb near it, is not established.
