Militant killed in Grozny

            Late night on the 9th of January, on Novy lane of Grozny’s Staropromyslovski district employees of power structures conducted a special operation on detention of a potential militant. According to the information, received from local residents, law enforcers blocked a young man in the house no. 5. During the firing he was killed.

As it became known, the killed person was a 26-years local resident Dzhabrail Edilkhanov. According to some information, Edilkhanov rendered armed resistance during his detention.

Mesker-Yurt

            According to the information, received from local residents, on the previous day in the village of Mesker-Yurt of Shalinski district workers of law enforcement bodies detained and took away to unknown direction a young man, the inhabitant of this village. There is information that he was accused of aiding militants.

The circumstances of the incident are being established.

Grozny

            At the end of December in the area of Rosa Luxembourg street of the city of Grozny militiamen detained a young man of about 20- 22 years (the surname is being established). According to eyewitnesses, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs stopped the young man in the street, checked his documents, searched him and, then took him away.

The reason for his detention is unknown.

Gikalo settlement

            On the 8th of January in the settlement of Gikalo of Groznenski district employees of local power departments conducted the so-called "address special operation", during which one of local residents was detained. The 32-years man was accused of aiding militants.

This information was received from villagers of the arrested person. The surname of the arrested person is being established.

Grozny

            According to one of inhabitants of the city of Grozny, about two weeks ago in the area of Revolutsia avenue in the city of Grozny employees of power departments detained two men: Ali Daimov and Timur Soltukiev. According to the source, law enforcers detained two men after the check of their documents and a personal search.

As it became known, Soltukiev is the inhabitant of Ingushetia, and Daimov is a resident of Groznenski district of the Chechen Republic. The reason for their detention by law enforcers is unknown.

Arbitrariness of law enforcers in Barsuki

            According to the information, received from local residents, at the dawn on the 9th of January in the village of Barsuki of Nazranovski district employees of power structures wearing masks arrived to the village on vehicles of "URAL", "UAZ" and "Zhiguli" and conducted a search in the house of the family of Murad Evloev. Having rushed into the house, law enforcers started shouting out threats and offending members of Evloevs family. Thus, one of them made several shots in air, and the ricocheted bullet injured two participants of this "action".

            Then perpetrators left to unknown direction having taken the wounded persons with them. It was found out later that one of the injured persons was an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ingushetia Ramzan Sakalov. Now he is in the hospital.

The reason for such actions by employees of power structures towards the family of Evloevs is unknown.

Additional information

            On January 8, in the village of Yandare of Nazranovski district a powerful explosion has occurred here. This information was received from inhabitants of the settlement. There is no exact information about this incident for the time being.

According to people, the explosion occurred approximately at 3 AM. More details on the incident are being established. (Information Release № 1195 dated 8 January 2008).

            Today some details regarding the incident became known. One of the inhabitants of the village of Yandare informed that the reason of the night explosion on the 8th of January was that unknown persons had thrown an explosive device into the courtyard of the house of local Dudarovs family. No information on victims and injured persons in this explosion was reported.

            According to the available information, an adviser of the President of Ingushetia and a worker of law enforcement bodies of Ingushetia live in the attacked household. Who and why accomplished this attack on Dudarov’s house is unknown.
