Local resident detained in Nadterechny district

            According to the information, received from local residents, on the previous day in Nadterechny district employees of law enforcement structures conducted the so-called “special operations”, during which they detained and took away to unknown direction a young man. The circumstances of the incident and the name of the detainee are being established.

Employee of MOI wounded in Grozny

            In the evening of 8 February in Grozny’s Zavodskoi district, on the territory of the local post office, an employee of MOI of Russia was heavily wounded. This person was sent to Chechnya from Kaluzhski region. This information was received from a source of law enforcement structures.

            There is information that the militiaman accidentally wounded himself making two shots to the belly from Kalashnikov sub-machine gun. The name of the victim is being established. 

Residents of one of TACs in Grozny have no electricity and gas

            According to the information received from a Temporary Accommodation Centre (TAC) of internally displaced persons (IDPs), located on Chaikovski street of the city of Grozny, on February 8 they were deprived of gas and electricity supply. According to the people, this is the way that they are forced to release the occupied premises.

            The IDPs approached human rights organizations with the request to help them, as due to the cut of electricity and gas supply the building started facing serious problems. There are tens of families live in this building, and there are many children among these IDPs. The people deprived of possibility to warm up the premises as well as to cook for themselves.

Life attempt at high ranking official of Prosecutor’s office in Nazran

            At night on February 10, in the city of Nazran unknown people attacked the house of the head of Investigation department of the Prosecutor’s office of Ingushetia Ibragim Mogushkov. As it became known, an anti-tank grenade was thrown into the courtyard of the house. Luckily, it has not blown up.

            The grenade was safely defused by military sappers, who came to the scene of the incident. Identity of assailants, who managed to escape, is not established.

Prigorodny district of North Ossetia-Alania

Cross-firing near Novy settlement

            Late night on February 8, in the settlement of Novy of Prigorodny district of North Ossetia, employees of militia made an attempt to stop a suspicious car of “Zhiguli” of the 9^th model. It was moving along one of the streets of the settlements, where 200 IDP families of Ingush ethnicity from Prigorodny district live. The passengers of the car opened fire at militiamen and tried to escape.

As a result of the clash one of the passengers was killed. One of the militiamen received a light wound to the shoulder. The other two (according to the other source, there were three of them) Двое (по другим данным трое) passengers of the “Zhiguli” ran to the other side of the street and possessed a car “Zhiguli” VAZ 2106, which was standing in the yard of one of the private households. They made a wound to the leg to the mistress of the house, who was trying to prevent stealing of the vehicle. At the exit of the village the car had got into a trench. The assailants left the car and escaped to unknown direction.

            Names of the killed person and the wounded militiaman and woman are being established.
