Serviceman wounded in Shali

            In the morning on the 11th of March, in the vicinity of the town of Shali, as a result of a mine explosion a serviceman of the military division deployed here was wounded. As one of the local residents has informed, the serviceman was wounded in immediate proximity of his division ‘s location.

            According to some information, the military man blew off at one of numerous anti-personal service mines, which are installed by militaries on the perimeter of the territory of the division with a view of their safety. The surname of the injured serviceman is being established.

Unknown persons attacked militiaman in Grozny

            On the night of March 7, in the city of Grozny unknown persons opened fire from automatic weapons at a car driven by employees of extra-departmental guards of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Chechen Republic. According to eyewitnesses, the militiaman has not suffered.

The assailants managed to disappear to unknown direction. Their identity is not established.

                                               Chechen resident detained in Moscow

            Several days ago in one of the districts of the city of Moscow employees of law enforcement bodies detained a resident of the Chechen Republic, the 38-years Ruslan Mukaev. This information was provided by an acquaintance of the arrested man.

According to the source, approximately at the same time, in Rostov oblast militiamen detained the brother and the nephew of Mukaev. The reasons of their detention are unknown for the time being.

Detention of Grozny residents

            At the beginning of March, in Staropromyslovski district of the city of Grozny, near the bus-stop "Berezka", employees of militia detained two young men. This information was provided by one of the eyewitnesses of the incident.

According to the source, militiamen stopped young men on the street. After check of their documents as well as personal inspection they were detained.

The reason for their detention by law enforcers is not established. The surnames of the detainees are being established.

Meeting of opposition planned in Nazran postponed for a month

            The meeting of protest planned for 12 March in the city of Nazran is postponed by its organizers for the later time. According to one of the members of the organizing committee, it will take place approximately at the beginning of April of the current year.

            In January of this year the local opposition planned to hold a large-scale meeting in Nazran against arbitrariness and corruption of authorities, however this action has come to the end without even being started. Participants of the meeting were dispersed by employees of power structures, who used physical power. Later, one of the organizers of the meeting in Nazran, the well-known businessman Maksharip Aushev, had been detained by workers of power structures and taken to Nalchik (Kabardino-Balkariya). Investigators are trying to incriminate him organization of mass disorders in Nazran on the 26-th of January.

Currently, Aushev, as well as several other participants of the meeting, are still being kept in a prison.

Five houses burnt out in IDP camp in Nazran

            According to the information, received from employees of the Committee on protection of IDPs’ rights, in the evening on the 7th of March, in the temporary settlement of Chechen refugees "Crystal" located in the city of Nazran a fire has started due to sharp fluctuation of gas pressure. As a result of the fire, five wooden houses, where internally displaced persons were living, have burnt away.

Luckily, there were no victims among residents of the temporary settlement. Nevertheless, the property of the families, which were living in these houses, has been completely destroyed by fire. According to the received data, currently, approximately 300 people were living in "Crystal".
