Man detained in Kotar-Yurt

            According to the information, received from an inhabitant of the village of Kotar-Yurt of Achkhoi-Martanovski district, in second half of 13 May, in this village employees of power structures conducted a so-called "address special operation", during which they detained and took away to unknown direction his villager (the surname is not provided due to the request of the source). According to the available information, a "standard" charge in belonging to fighters was brought against the arrested person.

The circumstances of the incident are being established.

Arbitrariness of law enforcers in Grozny

Several days ago in Staropromyslovski district of the city of Grozny employees of local power structures grabbed and took away to unknown direction a young man, who was coming back from a mosque. He was kept in the police department of Staropromyslovski district during one, where he was subjected to beatings and tortures, and demanded "to confess" about his, allegedly, involvement in explosion of a vehicle with employees of militia, which had been accomplished last week in the settlement of Tashkala of Staropromyslovski district. In that incident, as a result of the explosion, five militiamen were killed, and several were wounded.

According to the source, the young man was found and released only after intervention of his close relatives, which worked and still work in of law enforcement system of the republic.

Additional information

On 13 May in Oktiabrski district of the city of Grozny, on a check point located on Khankalskaya-street an explosion occurred. As it became known later, domestic gas blew off in one of the premises of the checkpoint.

As a result of this blast, one of the militiamen was traumatized and was hospitalized. The information on the incident is received from an inhabitant of Grozny. According to some information, the suffered militiaman was sent to the Chechen Republic from Krasnodar region. (Information Release № 1287 of 14 May 2008).

As it became known from an employee of law enforcement bodies of the republic, as a result of the gas explosion at the checkpoint on Khankalskaya street the 32-years ensign of militia Moor has suffered. He was sent to the Chechen Republic from Krasnodar region.

Three militiamen killed in Plievo

            In the evening of 14 May, in the village of Plievo of Nazranovski district, on a highway leading from this settlement to the village of Achaluki of Malgobekski district, unknown persons opened fire at a car, in which were two employees of the Karabulak police department and a militiaman from Ryazan region. As a result of bombardment, all three were killed on the scene.

The assailants managed to escape to unknown direction. Their searches appeared to be ineffectual. Surnames of the killed militiamen are being established.

            According to the information, received from local residents, in the evening on 13 May in the "Center-Kamaz" in the city of Nazran, employees of Russian and local power structures conducted a so-called "special operation". According to eyewitnesses of the incident, law enforcers blocked a house in Malsagov-lane and opened fire from various weapons, including machine guns and grenade cup discharges at a house. According to some information, a young man and a woman, who were in the house, have rendered armed resistance.

            During the cross firing they were killed. They are local resident Bogatyrev and his 22-years wife Plieva. Law enforcers stated that the killed persons were insurgents.

During this “special operation” a 50-years old woman, the owner of the house, in which the killed persons had rented a room, was killed as well. Her surname is being established.
