Murder in Grozny’s Zavodskoi district

            About 15 o'clock on 15 June, in Zavodskoi district of the city of Grozny, near the oil-refining factory, a squad of policemen underwent the attack from grenade cup discharges. A young man, who accidentally happened to be on the place of the incident, became a victim of the shooting. As a result of explosion of an item of ordnance, he received a heavy wound and died on the scene.

One of militiamen received a light wound. The assailant managed to escape. His searches have not given results. The surname of the killed men and the wounded militiaman are being established.

Three persons killed in Benoi –Vedeno

            On the night of June 13, a group of armed persons in camouflage uniform and masks arrived to the village of Benoi-Yurt of Nozhai-Yurtovski district. They exposed check posts at the entrances to the village and during several hours have been controlling the village.

According to some information, there were about 60 fighters. They were armed with automatic weapons and grenade cup discharges. On the outskirts of the village they shot out a car of "Niva", the driver of which did not follow their requirement to stop. The father and two sons of Yasaevs, who were in a car, were killed.

Militants burnt five houses in the village (the house of the head of the rural administration and four houses, where families of militiamen), and two cars. Besides, they grasped one of the local residents, who was later released. As one of the local residents has informed, insurgents left village approximately at 2 o'clock in the morning. However, divisions of militia and militaries arrived to Benoi-Vedeno only in the morning. The circumstances of the incident in the settlement are being established.

Human remains found in settlement of Druzhba

            At the beginning of last week a place of burial with remains of five persons has been found in the settlement of Druzhba (Friendship) of Gudermeski district, near the base of "East". Inhabitants of the district have informed on it.

There is information that identity of one of them was established. He is a physician Ali Khanbiev, kidnapped by employees of unidentified power departments in 2002. According to some information, the killed person was the brother of the deputy of the Parliament of the Chechen Republic Magomed Khanbiev.

Militaries fired at in Sunzhenski district

            On the night of June 16, in Sunzhenski district, on the federal highway "Kavkaz", unknown persons fired from small arms at a vehicle of "Zhiguli" of 99-th model, in which there were Russian militaries. The information on it is received from local residents.

According to them, as a result of the attack one of the servicemen in the car was killed, one more person is in Sunzhenski hospital and his state is grave. Assailants managed to escape. The attempt to detain them on the hot heels has failed. Surnames of the killed and wounded servicemen are being established.
