Arbitrariness of law enforcers against human rights activists

            In the second half of 17 June, in the village of Goity of Urus-Martanovski district employees of local power departments detained and took to the militia district department employees of the Human rights center "Memorial", who were carrying out film recording of the territory of the department of militia of the village of Goity, where earlier, according to some information, one of the illegal prisons had been settled down. The head of the office of "Memorial" Shakhman Akbulatov as well as three employees of this organization, Yaragi Gairbekov, Zarema Mukusheva and Milana Bakhaeva, during several hours have been kept in the militia department and interrogated.

            Thus, "observers of law and order" openly threatened them with punishment and accused of "cooperation" with militants, engagement in subversive activities, etc. The lawyer of the "Memorial" Dokka Itslaev was not allowed to talk to detainees, which was also violation of all norms of the legislation. All four detained workers of "Memorial" were released late at night.

Attack on Russian militaries near Chishki village

            In the first half of 16 June, on the outskirts of the village of Chishki of Groznenski district a group of unknown persons opened fire from automatic weapons and grenade cup discharges at two trucks with Russian militaries. This information was obtained from residents of this village.

            According to the available information, as a result of this attack several servicemen were killed and wounded. The assailants managed to escape to unknown direction. According to the people, later the area of the incident was invaded by divisions of federal forces and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Fighting helicopters appeared in the air. They made rocket strikes at large forests. Surnames of the killed militaries is being established.

«Address special operation» in Shali

            On 16 June, in the regional center of Shali employees of power structures conducted a regular "address special operation". During this "action" they detained and took away to unknown direction one of the local residents. The information on it is received from villagers of the arrested person.

The circumstances of the incident and the surname of the man are being established.

Militiaman wounded in Vedeno district

            According to the information, received from local residents, several days ago in Vedenski district of the republic, in a large forest near the village of Tsa-vedeno an employee of the Chechen militia tripped a land mine. He lost a foot of the leg.

The victim was hospitalized in grave condition. The surname of the victim is being established.

Attack on militiaman in Nazran

About 10 o'clock in the morning of 16 June, on Mutalieva-street in the city of Nazran a group of unknown persons moving in a car "Zhiguli" of black color opened fire from automatic weapons at a vehicle of "VAZ-21099" driven by an employee of militia. The later received a wound to the shoulder and was delivered to the hospital.

The assailants managed to escape to unknown direction. The information on the incident is received from eyewitnesses. The attempt to detain them hot on the heels has failed.
