«Address special operation» in Grozny

            On 21 April, in Grozny’s Staropromyslovski district representatives of law enforcement structures conducted a regular “address special oepartion”. During this action they detained the local resident Olkhazar Abuev, the age of which is about 50-55 years. This information was obtained from acquaintances of Abuev.

As it became known, the possible reason for detention of the man is that after the first military campaign in the republic he was taking the position of the chief of the Main headquarter of internal troops of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria.

Local resident detained in Assinovskaya

            According to the information, received from local residents, on 20 April, in the village of Assinovskaya of Sunzhenski district of the republic law enforcement structures detained a 20-years young man. According to the available information, law enforcers accused him of belonging to militants.

The circumstances of the incident as well as the name of the detainee are being established.

Additional information

            Yesterday, in Vedeno district, on the road from the district center of Vedeno to the village of Shali, unknown persons fired from automatic weapons at a vehicle of “Zhiguli”, where representatives of the office of Ombudsman in Vedeno district Khasambek Zubairaev, two of his small nieces, a brother and a sister. As it became known from friends of Zubairaev, as a result of the shooting, both of his nieces, the sister and the brother were wounded. Zubairaev himself has not suffered.

The girls have died on the way to the hospital. Identity of the assailants is not established. The circumstances of the incident and name of the killed nieces of Zubairaev are being established. (Information Release № 1270 of 21 April 2008).

As it became known, the victims of the unknown assailants are Khedi and Mata Saidumovs, daughters of Zubairaev’s sister. The girls were 6 and 8 years accordingly.

Checkpoint in Ekazhevo fired at.

Late night on 21 April, in the area of the so-called “Ekazhevo circle” in Nazranovski district unknown persons fired from automatic weapons at a stationary checkpoint, which is located on the federal highway “Kavkaz”. As a result of this shooting, one of the local women, who at the moment of the incident happened to be in the yard of her house, was wounded.

The information on casualties and victims among employees of MoI, who were on duty at this checkpoint, was not received. The name of the wounded woman is being established.  

Attack on mayor of Nazran city

Several days ago, in the city of Nazran, an explosion has occurred at the gate of the private house on Islamskaya-street, where the mayor of the city of Nazran Beiali Ozdoev is living. This information is received from local residents.

According to one of the eyewitnesses, the explosive device has detonated at the gate of the house of the official.
