Helicopter fired at near Chozhi-Yurt

            On 22 April, in the outskirts of the village of Chozhi-Yurt of Achkhoi-Martan district unidentified persons fired at a military helicopter. This information was received from residents of this settlement.

According to them, the shooting at the helicopter has proceeded from a forest near the village. As a result of the shooting, the helicopter was damaged and had to land. The information on casualties and victims among the members of the crew of the helicopter was not received. Some time later, the district of the incident was blocked by law enforcers, who have conducted the search of the area.

Explosion in Leninski district of Grozny

            On 21 April, on Petropavlovski highway of the city of Grozny, during the movement of a military column consisting of several trucks and an armored troop-carrier, a powerful explosive device placed at the road-side has been activated. According to an eyewitness of the explosion, one of the servicemen has received a wound.

The information on other people suffered in this incident is not reported.

Detentions of citizens

Chechen-Aul village

            On 22 April, in the village of Chechen-Aul of Grozny rural district, in the course of the so-called “address cleaning operation” lae enforcers detained a 48-years man. This information was obtained from one of the villagers of the detainees.

The detained person is accused of that in 1995 he had been the member of armed formations operating on the territory of the republic. The name of the detainee is not provided due to the request of the source.

Alkhazurovo  

            According to the information received from local residents, several days ago in the village of Alkhazurovo of Urus-Martanovski district employees of law enforcement bodies have detained and taken away to unknown direction a 22-years young man. There is information that the house of the detainee had been searched.

According to some information, law enforcers accused the young man of belonging to militants.

Two clashes in Vdeno district

            On the previous day, in Vedeno district, near Dzhani-Vedeno, two clashes between law enforcers and members of armed formations have occurred. According to local residents, as a result of the shooting a Russian officer (the name is being established) was killed. At least one serviceman was wounded.

Local residents note that recently in the pre-mountainous and mountain district members of armed formation have activated their activity. The shooting at a helicopter happened yesterday in Achkhoi-Martan district is the evidence of that.

Unknown persons fired at shop in Nazran

As it became known from residents of the city of Nazran, this morning on Oskanov-street unidentified persons moving on a light skin vehicle have opened fire at a food store here. Then the attackers managed to escape to unknown direction.

Who and why has made the shooting at the shop in the center of the city is not established.

Security measures strengthened in Ingushetia

Law enforcement structures of Ingushetia have strengthened their security measures. According to the available information, all strategic objects, buildings of ministries and institutions, as well as hospitals and schools.

Probably, the reason for such measures on the territory of the republic is the recent attacks on militaries and representatives of law enforcement bodies, which are becoming more and more frequent.

Late night on 21 April, in the area of the so-called “Ekazhevo circle” in Nazranovski district unknown persons fired from automatic weapons at a stationary checkpoint, which is located on the federal highway “Kavkaz”. As a result of this shooting, one of the local women, who at the moment of the incident happened to be in the yard of her house, was wounded.

The information on casualties and victims among employees of MoI, who were on duty at this checkpoint, was not received. The name of the wounded woman is being established. (Information Release № 1271 of 22 April 2008).

According to one of the local residents, as a result of the attack on the checkpoint in the area of “Ekazhevo circle” the 41-years resident of the village of Ekazhevo Maret Khidrieva was wounded. The woman was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the shoulder.
