Two militiamen wounded in Ordzhonikidzevskaya

            About 15 pm on 23 February, in the village of Ordzhonikidzevskaya of Sunzhenski district unknown persons moving on a car of "Zhiguli" VAZ-21114 of silvery color opened fire at  a vehicle with employees of the local MoI. According to one of the inhabitants of the village, the incident occurred in the area of Rabochaya street.

            As a result of the sudden attack, two employees of the Ingush militia, officers of local police department Ruslan Ugurchiev and Khavazh Gazdiev, were wounded and hospitalized. The assailants managed to escape to unknown direction. Their searches have not brought any success.

Attack on militiamen of Gamurzievo

            According to the information, received from local residents, in the evening on the 22nd of February, near the village of Gamurzievo of Nazranovski district, unknown persons made a shot from a grenade cup discharge at employees of MoI of Russia. They had stopped near a water source to take waters. As a result of the explosion of a grenade, two militiamen have suffered.

The surnames of the victims are being established. The attackers managed to escape.

Additional information

           On January 26, 2008, in the area of the Soglasiye (Consent) square in the city of Nazran, a clash between employees of power structures and participants of a mass meeting has occurred. This meeting has started this morning. The organizers of the action and participants intended to support the policy of the President of Russia V.Putin and to pass a no-confidence motion against the head of the republic M.Zyazikov. On the 25th of January law enforcers announced that "a counter terrorist operation" was launched in a part of the city of Nazran, Magas, and a number of villages. Despite of it, since morning of the 26th of January people started gathering in the square of Consent in Nazran.

            Later, employees of militia and power structures made an attempt to disperse the meeting, which triggered a clash. According to the Chairman of the Committee on protection of IDPs rights and the expert of the Moscow Helsinki group in the North Caucasus Aslanbek Apaev, there was a provocation against participants of the meeting.

            Unknown persons set afire the hotel "Assa", the building of the newspaper "Serdalo" and several light-skin vehicles in the area of the square. During the clash law enforcers used their weapon. There are wounded and beaten persons. Tens people are detained and taken away to unknown direction. (Information release № 1207 dated 26 January 2008).

            According to the information, received from one of the participants of the meeting, several persons, arrested by law enforcers on the 26th of January for participation in the meeting, are currently kept in a pre-trial detention center in Pyatigorsk. They are Ruslan Khazbiev, Salman Gazdiev, Batyr Mashkhoev, Ramzan Kulov, Israil Barakhoev and Akhmed Izmailov. One of the organizers of the meeting Maksharip Aushev and the close relative of his wife Magomed Yevloev detained by employees of power structures on the 14th and the 13th of February accordingly, were also taken out of the republic and are kept in a pre-trial detention center of Nalchik. The detainees are being accused of organization and participation in mass disorders.

Four persons wounded in Grozny as a result of explosion

            In the morning on the 22nd of February, in the city of Grozny, in one of the private households a powerful explosion has occurred. Immediately a fire started up in the house. As it became known from a worker of the republican Emercom, the reason of this incident became gas explosion.

As a result of this incident, a young couple as well as their two children, living in the house has suffered. The older child from was three years. All of them are hospitalized.

Detention of resident of Gvardeiskoye

            According to one of inhabitants of the village of Gvardeiskoe of Nadterechni district, on the 18th of February, employees of power structures detained a 33-years woman (the surname is not provided due to the request of the source). The circumstances of the incident are being established.

The reason for his detention is unknown.
