Fighting in Nozhai-Yurt district

            According to the information, received from local residents, on January 27, in the vicinity of the village of Gordali of Nozhai-Yurtovski district a fighting between employees of power structures and a group of militants has occurred. During this clash two law enforcers were killed and two others received wounds.

Later, militaries and militiamen arrived to the area of the clash and conducted a ‘mopping up operation” there. Names of the killed persons as a result of this clash are being established.

Two persons detained in Alkhan-Kala

            On the 24th of January, in the village of Alkhan-Kala of Groznenski district workers of republican militia detained two local inhabitants. The circumstances of the incident and surnames of detainees are being established.

«Address special operation» in Dyshni-Vedeno

            In second half of January 23, in the village of Dyshni-Vedeno of Vedenski district during conduction of the so-called "address special operation" employees of power structures detained and took away to unknown direction the 21-years inhabitant Ozdiev. The information on it is received from villagers of the detainee.

According to the available information, the arrested person was accused by law enforcers of belonging to militants.

Additional information

            In the morning on the 23rd of January, in the village of Khattuni of Vedenski district two employees of power structures of Russia (surnames are being established) were wounded. Inhabitants of the village have informed on it.

As they said, a shell, sent from a disposition of one of the divisions of federal forces, has blown up on the territory of a military division deployed in Khattuni. As a result of this explosion, the officer and the warrant officer were wounded, and they were hospitalized. (Информационный выпуск №  1207 от 23-го января).

            As it became known today, as a result of the explosion of the shell the mayor Sokolov and the warrant officer Volkin have been wounded.

Journalists beaten up during scattering of rally in Nazran

            According to the information, received from one of the participants of the rally in Nazran on the 26th of January, which was scattered by employees of the Ingush OMON, law enforcers have severely beaten up tens of people. There are representatives of mass media among them.

            As it became known, the victims of arbitrariness accomplished by militiamen became the photographer of RIA "News" Said Tsarnaev and the correspondent of the newspaper “Your day" Mustafa Kurkiev. The source informs that Kurkiev has got trauma of the head. The journalists were near the building of the newspaper "Serdalo" and were taking record of a group of young men throwing bottles with incendiary mixture into the building.

            Besides, law enforcers detained several journalists, including the correspondent of the "Radio of Freedom", who was kept for several hours in the city department of militia and then taken to Vladikavkaz. Later, he was released.

            According to the available information, criminal cases on administrative office were opened against 39 participants of the action. On the 26th of January, a mass meeting of protest was planned on the square of Contest in the center of Nazran. The action was interrupted at the very beginning by employees of the Ingush OMON, who blocked the area and scattered the meeting. According to the available information, all detained participants of the meeting are released.
