Two persons from Gukhoi detained

            As it became known from an inhabitant of the village of Gukhoi of Itum-Kalinski district, on 24 April, in this settlement employees of local power departments detained two persons. The arrested persons have been accused of aiding and abetting insurgents.

The circumstances of the incident and the surname of the arrested persons are being established.

Arbitrariness of law enforcers in Grozny

            At the dawn on 24 April, Russian militaries and employees of local power structures conducted the so-called "check of the passport system" in the 8th site of Staropromyslovski district of Grozny. Having completely blocked the small settlement, law enforcers checked documents of local residents, and then left. However, after a while, a group of workers of power departments again arrived on 4 vehicles to the 8-th site.

            They, without providing any explanation, took away the 44-years local inhabitant Leila Suleimanova to the militia department of Staropromyslovski district. The woman was kept approximately five hours in the militia department, where she was interrogated by several employees of one of the Russian power departments. They tried to accuse Suleimanova in, allegedly, “assisting militants” during military activities. Besides, she was accused of cooking for Shamil Basayev.

            To the question of the woman, whence they have got such information, one of the interrogators replied that this information had been received from an insurgent detained earlier. For the requirement of Suleimanova to arrange a confrontation with this unknown insurgent, the military answered that it is impossible and said: "You know that insurgents do not live longer after detention". Some times later the woman was told that someone from her neighbors had denounced on her and was advised to "confess about everything".

            After long conversation and explanations from Suleimanova that she had never had any contacts with participants of armed formations, and she saw Basayev only on TV, she was released. Thus, law enforcers, which abused law and did not introduce themselves, took Suleimanova’s phone number, saying that "she will be contacted in case of need".

            The woman, who became a victim of anonymous denunciation, is really concerned, as it is not known, what "charges" will be brought against her by "vigilant" workers of the power department.

Powerful explosion in Nazran

About 10 a.m. on 29 April, in the center of Nazran, near one of the bus stops located near the central city hospital, a powerful explosive device worked out. There are no victims and injures reported in this blast.

As it became known from inhabitants of Nazran, the land mine was found by sappers and blew up at the attempt to neutralize it.

Employee of Ingush militia wounded in Prigorodny district

            According to the information, received from an inhabitant of the settlement of Maiskoye of Prigorodny district, on the night of April 29, unknown persons fired from the automatic weapon at a vehicle "Zhiguli", in which there was an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ingushetia (the surname is being established). As a result of the bombardment, the militiaman received heavy gunshot wounds and was hospitalized.
