Vehicle fired at in Grozny

            In the evening on the 3rd of February, on the highway Grozny - Argun a car "Zhiguli" with two local residents inside was fired at from automatic weapons. According to eyewitnesses, this incident occurred approximately in a kilometer from the entrance to Grozny.

As a result of bombardment two men in the car received heavy wounds to the chest and were hospitalized. The surnames of the victims and the circumstances of the incident are being established.

Body of dead girl found near Samashki

            As it became known from inhabitants of Achkhoi-Martanovski district, on the previous day, on the outskirts of the village of Samashki a corpse of a young girl of approximately 20 years with attributes of a violent death was revealed. According to one of the eyewitnesses, the girl has been strangled.

The reason for punishment above the girl is unknown. Her surname is being established.

At night on the 29th of January, Russian militaries subjected to bombardment from long-range weapons the village of Gekhi of Urus-Martan district. Thus, earlier militaries stated that they made strikes on large forests of the neighboring Achkhoi-Martanovski district with the purpose to destroy a group of militaries, which had entered to cross firing with militaries on the previous day.

            According to the information, received from inhabitants of this settlement, as a result of the shooting of militaries at the village, 26 houses were partially destroyed and damaged. Three trucks and two light skin vehicles belonging to local residents were seriously damaged. Besides, a gas and electric lines were damaged as well.

            Inhabitants of village are extremely indignant by the incident and express their bewilderment by the way that militaries, which were firing at large forests in Achkhoi-Martanovski district, could "miss" 25 kilometers and sent shells out at the large settlement of another district. Luckily, there are no casualties or injuries among population of Gekhi. (Information Releases №№ 1211 dated 29 January 2008 and 1212 dated 30 January).

            As it became known today, the family of the local resident Nanash Saitaev has suffered most of all as a result of this air attack. His house was almost completely destroyed. Besides, a “Kamaz” truck and several vehicles in the court yard of the house are seriously damaged.

Attack on militiamen in Nazran

            In the afternoon on the 3rd of February, in the city of Nazran, on a crossroad of Gairbek-Khadzhi and Nasyr-Kortskaya streets, unknown persons moving on a vehicle of "VAZ-2107" opened fire at an employee of militia. As a result of the attack three employees of the Ingush militia and a passer-by, the refugee from the Chechen Republic Rezvan Shamsutdinov were wounded.

This information was received from an inhabitant of Nazran. The assailants managed to disappear to unknown direction. Their searches undertaken by employees of militia have not given any results. Surnames of the suffered militiamen are being established.

Cross-firing in Surkhakhi

            According to the information received from an inhabitant of Nazran, on the 30th of January in the village Surkhakhi of Nazranovski district a cross firing has occurred. According to the source, the intensive shooting, which proceeded for about 30 minutes, was heard in the area of Gornaya street of this settlement, where the Russian block post had been settled down.

            The information on victims as a result of the incident was not received. According to some information, at the moment of cross firing the road to Surkhakhi from Ekazhevo side was blocked with armored vehicles and militaries of federal forces. The circumstances of the incident are being established.

One of organizers of meeting in Nazran put on wanted list

            As it became known from participants of the protest rally, which has taken place in Nazran on the 26th of January and had been dispersed by employees of the Ingush OMON, authorities put on the wanted list one of organizers of this meeting, the owner of the independent site Ingushetia. Ru Magomed Yevloev. He was accused of organization of mass disorders.

            According to the available information, cases on administrative offences were opened regarding 39 participants of the action. On the 26th of January in the center of Nazran, on the square of Soglasie (Consent) a protest meeting was organized. The action was interrupted right at the beginning by employees of the Ingush OMON, who blocked the square and dispersed the participants of the meeting. According to the available information, all the detained participants of the meeting are already released. (Information Release  № 1210 dated 28 January 2008).

            According to the information received from local residents, late night on the 30th of January in the city of Nazran, in the area of the so-called "Ekazhevski circle", unknown persons moving on a vehicle of VAZ-2110 of a steel color fired from automatic weapons at the post of militia located there. As a result of this attack there are wounded persons among militiamen. There is also information that civilians have suffered as well.

The circumstances of the incident are being established. (Information Release № 1213 dated 31 January 2008).

            As it became known today, one of the Russian militiamen wounded in this shootout has later died in the hospital. He is an employee of the city department of Internal Affairs of the city of St.-Petersburg Vadik Kudziev, who had been in Ingushetia on his official trip.
