«Address special operation» in Benoi-Yurt

            On February 4, in the village of Benoi of Nadterechni district employees of power structures conducted another “address special operation”. During this "action" they detained and took away to unknown direction one of the inhabitants of this settlement. This information was provided by villagers of the arrested person.

According to the available information, the arrested person is accused of belonging to militants.

Young woman died in Grozny

            According to the information, received from local residents, on the previous night in Leninski district of the city of Grozny a young woman has died. According to the available information, the 23 years old woman has accidentally wounded herself from a pistol of her husband, an employee of Chechen militia.

The circumstances and the surname of the woman are being established.

Attack on house of official

            At night on February 4, in the city of Nazran unknown persons threw an explosive into the courtyard of a private house on Gvardeiskaya street. As a result of explosion the insignificant damage was caused to the house.

There are no victims and injures reported in this incident. The assailants managed to escape to unknown direction. As it became known, the deputy minister of culture of the republic lived in the attacked attack.

Local resident killed in Nazran

            On the 1st of February, in the city of Nazran, near the central market employees of power structures killed a 21-years local resident, the student of the 2nd course of the Institute of economy and law Yusup Chapanov. This information was received from local residents. According to eyewitnesses of the incident, Chapanov was walking along the street, when he was shot to the back from automatic weapon by persons in military uniform. Later law enforcers have announced that the killed person was a militant and he was wanted for commitment of several grave crimes. Besides, it was said that a pistol was found with him.

            Meanwhile, relatives and friends of Yusup Chapanov state that he had been never involved in any illegal actions. According to their information, "fighters with terrorism" have shot Yusup having taken him for another person.

Additional information  

            In the afternoon of the 3rd of February, in the city of Nazran, on a crossroad of Gairbek-Khadzhi and Nasyr-Kortskaya streets, unknown persons moving on a vehicle of "VAZ-2107" opened fire at an employee of militia. As a result of the attack three employees of the Ingush militia and a passer-by, the refugee from the Chechen Republic Rezvan Shamsutdinov were wounded.

This information was received from an inhabitant of Nazran. The assailants managed to disappear to unknown direction. Their searches undertaken by employees of militia have not given any results. Surnames of the suffered militiamen are being established. (Information Release № 1215 dated 4 February 2008).

            Today surnames of the other three victims of the attack became known. They are employees of Ingush militia Zelimkhan Dzeitov, Ruslan Ugurchiev and Aslan Khamkhoev.
