Young man killed in special operation in Kantyshevo

            In the morning on 7 May, in the village of Kantyshevo of Nazranovski district employees of power structures conducted the so-called "address special operation". As a result of this activity a young man, Isa Arsaev, has been killed. There is information that the man tried to render armed resistance at detention.

Russian servicemen suffered near Galashki

On 5 May, on the outskirts of the village of Galashki of Sunzhenski district a car accident occurred. The driver of a military truck "Ural" failed with management of a vehicle on a slippery road, as a result of which the vehicle fell into a ditch.

As a result of the road accident one military man died on the place of incident. Minimum 14 persons have been hospitalized in grave condition. The information on the incident is received from inhabitants of the village of Galashki.

Arbitrariness of law enforcers in Nasyr-Kort

            According to the information received from an inhabitant of the village of Nasyr-Kort (city of Nazran), on May 1, employees of Russian power structures, which arrived to the village on several vehicles "UAZ" accompanied by an armored troop-carrier, grasped and took away to unknown direction brothers of Aushevs: Akhmedkhan (born in 1986) and Adam (born in 1983), living in a house on Pervomaiskaya-street. Participants of the "special operation" were in masks, and they did not introduce themselves as well as not explain reasons of their actions.

            Later, relatives managed to find out that Akhmedkhan and Adam Aushevs were delivered to the police department in Nazran. The reason for their detention is unknown.

Serviceman wounded near Elistanzhi

            According to the information received from local residents, on May 5, in the vicinity of the village of Elistanzhi of Vedenski district, as a result of mine exlosion, a Russian military was heavily wounded. There is information that a group of militaries was conducting investigation in a large forest in several kilometers from the village, and one of them has stepped on a mine.

No other information about victims among militaries is reported.

Detentions of citizens

Grozny’s Staropromyslovski district

On May 5, in Saropromyslovski district of the city of Grozny law enforcers detained and took away to unknown direction a young man of about 30 years. This information was obtained from a city dweller.

The circumstances of the incident and the surname of the man are being established.

Kurchaloi

            On May 5, in the market of the district center of Kurchaloi employees of power structures detained a young man. According to eyewitnesses of the incident, militiamen checked his documents, searched him and took him away.

The reason for his detention is unknown. At present, the only available information is that the arrested man was an inhabitant of the village of Tsotsan-Yurt of Kurchaloiski distirict.

Additional information

            According to the information received from inhabitants of the town of Gudermes, on the previous day, on the waste ground located approximately in two kilometers from the building of the city hospital a semi-decomposed body of a man with attributes of violent death was found. According to eyewitness, traces of bullet wounds were seen on the back of the killed person. There were unfastened handcuffs on one of the hands.

Presumably, the killed person was a military man of the battalion of special troops of GRU (main intelligence directorate of the Russian General Staff) "East", who had disappeared several years ago under unknown circumstances. His surname is being specified. (Information Release № 1282 of 7 May 2008).

According to some information, the serviceman of "East" Vakharsolt Zakaev became the victim of extra judicial execution.
