Militia officer murdered in Nazran

            At night of June 9, in the center of the city of Nazran unknown persons killed an officer of the Ingush militia. As it became known from city dwellers, assailants, moving in a car, made several shots from small arms into an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ingushetia, and then disappeared to unknown direction. The latter died on the scene from the received wounds. The attempt to detain the assailants has failed.

The surname of the killed militia officer is being established. For the time being, it is known that he was an employee of the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ingushetia.

House of opposition activist searched in Nazran

            In the morning on June 8, in the city of Nazran several dozens of workers of the Nazran city police department, the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ingushetia and employees of the temporary task grouping of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Ingushetia conducted search in the house of one of the leaders of the Ingush opposition, acting chairman of the Mekhk - Khel Akhmad Kotiev. This information was obtained from friends of Kotiev.

There is information that law enforcers removed a portrait of the former president of Ingushetia Ruslan Aushev, hanging on a wall in one of the rooms. According to some information, earlier searches have been carried out in houses of two other activists of the Ingush opposition - Musa Aushev and Magomed Khazbiev.

Local residents believe that local authorities and law enforcers try to intimidate leaders of the Ingush opposition, who have organized petition among inhabitants of Ingushetia supporting return of Ruslan Aushev to the post of the president of Ingushetia.

Additional information

            As it became known from an inhabitant of Nazran, on 4 June, in a private household on Kravchuk street employees of the Russian power departments conducted an "address cleaning up operation". Without providing any explanation, they detained and took away to unknown direction a son of the owner of the house, the 20-years young man (the surname is being established).

There is information that the house was searched, and then law enforcers declared that weapons and ammunition was found in the house. Besides, militaries demanded from parents of the arrested young man to inform them about whereabouts of their second son. (Information Release № 1303 of 5 June 2008).

            As it became known today, the arrested person was a 20-years local resident Rashid Ortskhanov.

Attack on militiaman in Assinovskaya

            In the evening on 6 June, on the outskirts of the village of Assinovskaya of Sunzhenski district of the Chechen Republic unknown persons opened fire from automatic weapons and grenade cup discharges at three vehicles of "Zhiguli" with employees of local militia department. The information on the incident is received from inhabitants of Assinovskaya.

As a result of the attack, the chief of regional motor licensing and inspection department Idris Abdullaev has been killed. Shamil Kutsaev, the chief of Sunzhenskif militia department, has received a heavy wound. Several other militiamen were hospitalized with different wounds (the number varies from three to six persons).

According to the people, later employees of power structures arrived to the place of the incident. They conducted "cleaning up operation" of the area, but they failed to find and detain the assailants.

Remains of man’s body found in Gudermes district

            On 6 June, in the vicinity of the village of Isti-Su of Gudermes district a burial place was revealed. The information on it was received from one of the eyewitnesses of the incident.

Remains of a man were found in a small hole. Later it was found out that it was the resident of the village of Yalkhoi-Mokhk of Kurchaloi district Akhmed Dzhamalov, whohad been kidnapped several years ago by employees of power structures and has been considered as a missing person. There is information that that the whereabouts of the burial place with remains of Dzhamalov was provided by one of the former servicemen of the battalion of special task of GRU (main intelligence directorate of the Russian General Staff) "East".

Local resident detained in Alkhan-Yurt

            On 5 June, in the village of Alkhan-Yurt of Urus-Martanovski district, during conduction of the so-called "address cleaning up operation", employees of power structures detained and took away to unknown direction a local resident Beslan Saigiriev. This information was provided by villagers of the arrested person.

As it became known, law enforcers accused the detainee of being a member of one of the armed formations during the first military campaign in the republic.

Additional information

            About 20 PM in the evening on 4th of June, in the vicinity of the village Goi-Chu of Urus-Martanovski district a group of armed persons in camouflage uniform fired from automatic weapons at a car of "Zhiguli". As a result of the attack, three out of four men in the vehicle were wounded. Later. One of them died in the hospital.

The information on the incident is received from local residents. According to them, the driver of the car has not suffered. Identity of assailants is not established. (Information Release № 1303 of 5 June 2008).

            According to the information, received from an inhabitant of Urus-Martanovski district, as a result of the attack, a local resident Umalt Kaisarov has been killed. Said-Magomed and Ibragim Kadyrovs received wounds of various degrees. Identity of assailants is not  established yet.
