Statistics on murders and abductions in December 2007

 

The situation on the territory of the Chechen Republic over the reporting month remains quite complicated and far to be stable. Such facts as murders, abductions and disappearances of people, unauthorized perpetrations into dwellings and arrests of citizens, application of unlawful methods of inquiry to arrested persons and est. continue to take place. Thus, as before, some of the detainees are released, frequently, because of lack of evidences as well as they have no relation to crimes incriminated to them by law enforcers.

The situation in the neighboring Ingushetia also remains complicated. As well as in the Chechen Republic, attacks on employees of the law enforcement bodies and unauthorized detentions of local residents by workers of various power structures take place from time to time.

According to the information, received by the Information center for CNO and published in our information releases, at the end of November - beginning of December of the current year 16 persons are killed and died in various circumstance in the territory of the Chechen Republic Among these victims are 6 employees of power departments, 4 participants of armed formations (there is one girl among them) and 3 teenagers, victims of mine blast.

During the same period in Ingushetia 2 persons, including an employee of law enforcement bodies, are killed.

 

In different areas of the Chechen Republic employees of power structures detained and arrested about 27 persons, including one woman, on suspicion in fulfillment of various crimes. Part of the detainees, according to the available information, was released later. Thus, many of them were obliged to come to militia on the short notice.

 

In Ingushetia three persons were detained, they were brought a charge against in fulfillment of different crimes and belonging to militants.

 

Besides, during the same period five attacks on employees of power departments were registered in the territory of the Chechen Republic.

 

Three attacks on law enforcers were accomplished in the neighboring Ingushetia.
