Statistics on murders and abductions for November 2007

In November the situation in the Chechen Republics has not undergone any positive changes. Murders, abductions, unauthorized arrests and detentions of citizens, beating and tortures in places of imprisonment, arbitrariness of employees of various power departments towards the population are still widespread phenomenon. Periodically, in the mountain part of the republic armed conflicts, cross-firing, attacks on militaries and employees of various power structures.

It is necessary to note that part of citizens detained by workers of law-enforcement structures are later released, frequently with condition to come to police on the short notice.

Cases of murders and attacks on representatives of power structures are frequent both in the Chechen Republic and the neighboring Ingushetia. Practically, none of the cases was successful in detention of criminals "on hot heals".

According to the information, received by the Information centre for CNO and published in our information releases, at the end of October - November of the current year in the territory of the Chechen Republic 3 persons are killed and died under various circumstances. One more resident of the Chechen Republic was shot down by unknown persons in the city of Baku (Azerbaijan).

In the same period in Ingushetia 8 persons, including an employee of law enforcement bodies and the six-year child, are killed.

On suspicion in fulfillment of various crimes employees of power structures detained and arrested in different districts of the Chechen Republic about 49 persons, among which are 2 women. Significant number of arrested persons, according to the available information, was released. Thus, many of them were obliged to come to militia under the first requirement.

In Ingushetia, 4 persons were detained due to charge in fulfillment of various crimes and suspicion in aiding and abetting militants.

Besides, in the same period 7 attacks on employees of power departments was registered in the Chechen Republic. Thus, both sides had victims and wounded persons.

In the neighboring Ingushetia 3 attacks on law enforcers are accomplished.
